Commemorating the Fallen – Remembrance Sunday 2014

This first Remembrance Sunday within the commemorative period attracted an enormous gathering of people in Queen’s Park from veterans and dignitaries, uniformed groups, including serving military personnel, and many hundreds of local citizens. From the named crosses laid out in rows before the Carillon, through the service and speeches, to the ‘rain’ of poppies released from the tower, there was an air of quiet dignity and reverence for those fallen. The uniformed contingents then marched into Loughborough Market Place for the final commemorative parade.
